A noir in the future of the 30s
The beauty of this game lies in the beautiful scenery. 1930sclearly inspired by Blade Runner, and in the countless references to both Richard Morgan’s work, Altered Carbon, and BlooberTeam’s video game gem, Observer System Redux.
The soundtrack used is perfectly fitting with the story, a sci-fi thriller in perfect 30’s style: even the characters’ voices were meticulously chosen, recalling old crime thriller films.
Nobody Wants to Die features two graphic modes that take full advantage of Unreal Engine 5: Qualitywhere we can enjoy a game at 1440p and 30 fps, and Performancewhere the graphics quality drops to 1080p and reaches a stable 30 fps.
The lights and ray tracing are very much appreciatedbut being a graphic adventure with limited guided interactions, unfortunately you can’t explore the city and the environments freely. A sore point are the controls, sometimes a bit difficult and not very comfortable to use with the joypad.
Nobody wants to die
Nobody Wants to Die is agraphic adventure in a 30s sci-fi noir style, deeply reminiscent of Blade Runner for its wonderful atmospheres and settings.
There The story is gripping and intricatenot extremely original, but gripping, and transports the player into a vortex of tension, guiding him in the investigation and in the solution of the mystery. They are available as many as four finals different depending on the decisions made during the game, which increases replayability.
Overall the game is pleasant to look atfor the beauty of futuristic New York, both for the ears, for the music and the excellent dubbing, but the strong point is the gripping story, even if at times a little confusing due to some plot holes.
