The Danish forward has been criticized since he arrived at Barça in February 2020, for a long-term injury to Ousmane Dembélé. It was an emergency solution without great performance, but today it is missing in attack.
Martin Braithwaite landed at the Camp Nou for 18 million since Leganés already finished the 2020 winter market. Since then, he has played 56 games and has signed 10 goals and five assists. He has always been criticized for not having the quality or the name to be in FC Barcelona, given that he had not stood out either especially in Butarque, where he signed 13 goals in 48 contests.
He injured his knee in August and has been absent ever since, scoring two goals in three stakes at the start of the season in an interesting way. His loss, added to that of Sergio “el Kun” Agüero, has left Memphis Depay as the only effective to shore up the offense with the much-questioned Luuk De Jong.
His absence is notorious at the level of offensive production, given that, having been out for three months, he is the team’s third top scorer together with Sergi Roberto and Gerard Piqué, lagging behind Ansu Fati (4) and Memphis Depay (7). The team adds 22 goals in 18 stakes, something that shows a significant lack in front of goal.
