What happened in Siena, a young man drove a car bought through social media, he had no insurance coverage and the number plates were false, applied to the vehicle with adhesive tape. In addition to inflicting heavy fines, the agents seized the irregular vehicle
Even an extremely serious problem can sometimes show curious implications. Driving a car without insurance has been a plague for many years now, with several million vehicles on the road without compulsory coverage. And sometimes the irregularities multiply, magnifying the dark component of the phenomenon. Like this recent episode, which happened in Siena. During a series of checks aimed precisely at countering these very dangerous practices (an accident with uninsured vehicles is an odyssey for the victims but also for the culprits, when they are identified), the police stopped a young Tunisian resident in Italy who had collected a consistent sequence of violations.
A flurry of violations
–
The driver stopped by the agents was behind the wheel of a recently purchased BMW with artisan methods: he had contacted the seller via a social network, bought the vehicle that had not been registered in Italy and then handed the documentation to an agency of automotive practices to register the car. Except that the buyer did not wait for everything to be regular. So he got behind the wheel after finding two Italian number plates of a different medium (provided to him by another person, always contacted through social media) and applied them to his car using adhesive tape. The worst thing of all is the failure to insure the vehicle. After all, even he could not have done it, since the license plate did not yet exist. As if that weren’t enough, he hadn’t even converted his foreign driving license. The police sanctioned the young man for over a thousand euros and confiscated the vehicle. But the fines are likely to multiply by a significant factor in subsequent investigations.
