NIXON FIRM NOT TO RESIGN. Washington. President Richard Nixon remains firm in his intention not to resign as a result of political pressure derived from the Watergate scandal. The deputy press secretary said that Nixon had not had the need to talk about his resignation during a lengthy meeting with Vice President Gerald Ford, because he knows very well the president’s intentions and feelings on the matter, as well as that the president proposes to complete his normal term of government. The meeting was held absolutely alone, to have a good talk. Nixon and Ford considered aspects of US international policy as well as the state of the economy due to inflation. Nixon and Ford may also have discussed the mood of the country, stemming from the growing political pressure for the president to resign. Ford said Nixon reaffirmed that he has no intention of resigning, despite comments from Republican leaders over the past few days. At a press conference, the vice president added that the issue of resignation did not arise directly in the talk he had with Nixon, but that he was able to conclude that he has no intention of doing so. However, the possible impeachment of the president was discussed in the conversation. He assured that the president is in excellent physical condition, completely rested and continuing with his work.

After the change of the previous PGR delegate in Sinaloa, a special group of agents from the federal agency arrived in Culiacán with instructions to reduce the backlog of existing arrest warrants and thus combat crime. In the same way, the PGR is carrying out the change of all the federal judicial officers assigned to the various departments that operate in the entity, and it is expected that they will now comply with their obligations to combat drug trafficking. It is expected that the reforms carried out will be for improvement.
