Compared to 2020 Nissan can still boast a positive result in this 2021 which is about to end. According to data released by the car brand for the month of November, the annual balance of car sales is still +3.3 percent globally, despite a rather heavy monthly decline. Nissan lost 18.3 percent from November 2020.
In general, November did not offer particular positive ideas for the car manufacturer: production fell by 20.2%, particularly in Japan with a peak of 23.6%. Sales in Japan decreased by 10.3%, also including kei cars, while outside the home country Nissan recorded a drop of 19.3% on 2020. Global production in 2021 remains in surplus, but only with a not too significant percentage (+ 1.5%) considering that 2020 was marred by much heavier lockdowns.
However, positive data can also be sought from this period. In particular, production in the United States increased by 2%, and it is significant because it is the second country where the most Nissan is produced after China (and before Mexico and Japan). The loss in terms of sales was more contained in Europe than in other markets: in the old continent Nissan recorded a minus 9 percent in November. The brand hopes to be able to recover the lost ground in the course of 2022, also relying on the electric SUV Ariya to build on Leaf’s past achievements.
