The clash between Nintendo and Tropic Hazeproducer ofYuzu emulator of Nintendo Switch for PC, is already making progress. Based on what OatmeaDome reported on Twitter, Yuzu will pay $2.4 million in damages to Nintendo to close the lawsuit.
The payment was agreed by the two parties. This should put an end to the lawsuit, but we don't have all the details on the matter yet.
As indicated in the tweet, some of the documents are not yet available and the terms of the agreement to which Yuzu will have to comply are not known. One of the possibilities suggested by users of the social network is that the emulator will continue to exist, but Yuzu will be prohibited from monetizing via its Patreon.
What happened previously
Let's remember that the producers of Yuzu were sued for their own Nintendo Switch emulator. Yesterday we found out that the company had hired a lawyer.
The accusation made by Nintendo is the aiding and abetting piracy, as the emulator would illegally bypass the encryption of Nintendo-owned software. In fact, it is stated that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been downloaded more than a million times.
