Nintendo announced with a post on X there end of support for the same social network on Nintendo Switch starting next month. For those who don’t know, X is the name given by the new ownership led by Elon Musk to the much better known Twitter.
Support will cease effective June 10, 2024the date on which owners of the hybrid console will no longer be able to publish images and videos on X starting from the console album and will also no longer be able to invite friend requests on X.
The end of support will affect several games, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 3 and Splatoon 2, which used it in some way.

In Splatoon 3, however, the publishing functions will be adapted, that is, when you want to publish something starting from the mailbox in Splatsville, Inkopolis Plaza or Inkopolis Square, there will no longer be the possibility to do so on X. In this case the possibility of do it on Facebook, with the data being sent directly to Nintendo’s servers. In this way the images published by children under 13 will become invisible to others. The images created for the posts will be copied to the Album in the HOME menu of the console and will be transferable to a smart device via wireless network or to a PC via USB cable. Something similar will also happen with Splatoon 2.
It’s hard to say how many Nintendo Switch owners used this feature. We imagine not many, given that Mario’s house has decided to cut it completely. We’ll see if it returns with Nintendo Switch 2.
