The COO of Devolver Digital, Graeme Struthershe recently mentioned Nintendo Switch 2 in an interview published by Gamereactor, although he obviously did not reveal the name of the machine, referring to it vaguely with reference to the new Nintendo console, which very emotional.
In the interview we talk about Neva, the new game coming to Nintendo Switch, but also about the future and the ongoing support provided by Devolver Digital for Nintendo consoles, including the next one, the mysterious Nintendo Switch 2, or whatever it will be called the new console from the Kyoto house.
Struthers explained that Nintendo was much closer to indie games with the Switch than it had previously been, which made everyone at the company a little excited, given that they have basically been Nintendo fans since the NES era .
Neva and other games will arrive on the new Nintendo console
“I think a lot of the people who work at Devolver and a lot of the developers who work here are Nintendo fan, from NES to Super Nintendoto everything else, so working with this company is something many of us have always wanted to do,” explained the Devolver COO.
“Switch did something that perhaps went against the trend: it is not very technologically advanced but it represents a simple proposition and this made it very more suitable for indies” Struthers reported.
“I think maybe it’s more challenging for triple-A to try to work in that environment, so we might have benefited from that. We’ve released something like 50 different games on Switch,” explained the Devolver COO, then mentioned the new console of the company, reporting of Switch 2 that “We’re excited about whatever Nintendo wants to do in the future and we have to wait, like everyone else, to see what happens. But, yes, we are thrilled. So, I’m pretty sure you’ll see some of the games, maybe even this one,” referring to Neva which could therefore arrive on the new machine.
