A new leak on Nintendo Switch 2 has emerged online in recent hours, this time by a third-party accessory manufacturertherefore a slightly more convincing source than others that have emerged in the past, although still uncertain: in this case we speak of a resolution 1080p, backwards compatibility, new Joy-Con and more.
The new testimony confirms much of what was reported in the previous leak, including that coming from third-party accessory manufacturers who would have had the opportunity to come into contact with Nintendo Switch 2, even without seeing it clearly but reporting some of its characteristics, such as reported yesterday.
The information comes from Mobapada Chinese accessory manufacturer, who reported some impressions of the new console on some social networks such as Facebook and Bilibili, only to then partially modify the messages to eliminate some elements.
A “conservative” evolution?
According to reports, Nintendo Switch 2 (or what will be the name of the new Nintendo console) should be an evolution with “conservative” characteristics, also to be able to guarantee the total backwards compatibility with the previous console.
It would aim for 1080p resolution as far as the display integrated, which should have a diagonal of 8 inches, therefore wider than the standard one on the current console.
The new console should be totally backwards compatible with the previous one, both as regards digital and physical games, however the new cartridges of Nintendo Switch 2 should have a different shape that would not allow them to be inserted into the previous console.
The fact that the Joy-Cons have a magnetic connection with the console body, no longer with interlocking rails, and they will still support HD Rumble (the ALPS two-axis linear motor), but they would have a different shape. These features would make the console compatible with previous Joy-Cons, but these could not physically attach to the body of the machine.
Nintendo Switch 2 would have the USB-C port for insertion into the Dock, with the latter being different, with some variations and additional features including support for 4K resolution with the console connected to the TV, although there is not much clarity on this.
The new extractable pedestal on the back of the console should allow adjustment of the inclination of the console, through a more complex and advanced design, furthermore the keys SL and SR on Joy-Cons should be metallic. There would also be additional buttons on the back of the controllers and one under the Home button. Obviously, we take everything as a simple rumor.
