With the Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, many fans are aware of any movement made by the Japanese company, with the intention of obtaining new information about its next console. In this way, it has been discovered that The Great Registered a “New and Mysterious Wireless Device” before the United States Federal Communications Commission.
Last week, Nintendo has filed a registration with the FCC for a product simply known as “CLO-001 model number”which doesn’t give us an idea of the type of product the company has in mind, although there is speculation that it will be something wireless. Here is its description:
“The CLO-001 is surprisingly light on wireless technology: it doesn’t have a 5GHz or 6GHz Wi-Fi radio or Bluetooth, but it does have a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio and a 24GHz mmWave sensor.”
Other documents apparently show that there is no “body-worn accessory” attached, it also has no battery and runs plugged in with a USB-C charger. Along with this, It has been mentioned that the 24 GHz mmWave sensor could be a “radar sensor for tracking motion.”
While many would expect this to be part of the Switch 2, The patent is more likely to have to do with some sort of sensor for Super Nintendo World.. There is no official information at the moment and, like all patents, there is no guarantee that this will become a reality. In related topics, they reveal who will win the lawsuit between Nintendo and Pocketpair. Likewise, they leak more bundles for the Switch.
Author’s Note:
These types of patents rarely become reality, or they come to market in a different form than what was filed. Also, these types of products are a couple of years away, so it will be some time before we have a clear idea of what this product actually is.
