Nintendo of America announced it had hired Gio Corsi within the team that deals with relationships with third parties, and it is an interesting new entry because it also comes from considerable previous experience at PlayStation.
Corsi personally confirmed his new adventure with a nice post on new path “full of fun and adventure” at Nintendo of America.
Corsi will therefore have an important role within the team “AAA Third-Party Portfolio Management“, i.e. the group that deals with relationships with third-party developers and publishers for the production of triple-A games on Nintendo Switch.
An industry veteran
Before arriving at Nintendo, Corsi had a long career in the gaming industry: he is remembered in particular for his time at PlayStation, where he spent 6 years in various senior roles.
From 2013 to 2019, Corsi covered the roles of Senior Director for third party productions and Head of Global Second Party Games at Sony PlayStation, and is also remembered for some interesting initiatives such as the commitment to PlayStation Vita and some effort in localization of Japanese games in the West, which also led to the consolidation of the Yakuza series outside Japan.
Subsequently, he worked at IllFonic and Iron Galaxy Studios as head of the commercial division.
