Nintendo is known for its veteran franchises, for liking all kinds of players, and for showing off relentless against piracy. Only in recent times has he ended up with small projects such as the Metroid fan art book and with large internet portals for which he has applied millionaire compensation to those responsible.
But if one battle caught our attention, it was the one he fought against one of the great piracy networks known as Team-Xecuter. Among its alleged members is Gary bowser, a surname that is starting to be surprisingly common among people with ties to Nintendo, but that has nothing to do with the president, Doug Bowser, nor is he accused of kidnapping Peach.
Last year, Nintendo, together with the US government, indicted three alleged members of the Team-Xecuter group. Among them was Bowser, who despite initially denied the accusations, is over pleading guilty, admitting his role in the conspiracy. How you shared Torrentfreak, Bowser has agreed to pay four $ 4.5 million and faces charges that carry a penalty of imprisonment of up to five years.
Gary Bowser has shed light on the operation of the piracy networkGary Bowser’s guilty plea has brought much new information to the case, shedding light on the group’s operations and the different brands they used. The defendants also include Max Louarn and Yuanning Chen. The main objective of the group was sell devices that serve customers to bypass protections of Nintendo consoles and be able to use calls ROM. Among his most successful lines of business was one to use custom firmware on the Nintendo Switch and thus have access to pirate games. As stated in the agreement, the company generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue from the sale of these devices. Team-Xecuter has been a headache for Nintendo for years, but has finally added yet another victory against piracy, in a battle it has fought over and over again on each of its consoles.
