Cartagena’s Adrián Sanmartín and Pedro García are the novelties in the first training session, which Luna attends while his departure is being negotiated
Cartagena’s Adrián Sanmartín and Pedro García are the main novelties in the first training session of the 2022/23 season at Cartagena, which will take place this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. on the main field of La Manga Club. The coach, Luis Carrión, summoned twenty-three footballers for this contact that kicks off the new course.
The fourteen first team players who have a valid contract will attend the session. They are goalkeeper Marc Martínez (2024), defenders Delmás (2023), Pedro Alcalá (2023), Pablo Vázquez (2023) and Toni Datkovic (2024) and midfielder Sergio Tejera (2023). They will be joined by left-back Antonio Luna (2023), as long as the club does not resolve his departure.
So will the six signings announced to date: goalkeeper Aarón Escandell (2024); right-back Iván Calero (2025); midfielders Mikel Rico and Luca Sangalli (2023); and the ends Óscar Arribas (2023) and David Ferreiro (2024). The latter begins tomorrow, Thursday, the catwalk of presentations, with the president Paco Belmonte. Both have a close friendship when they met in 2008 at Atlético Ciudad.
The quarry will be present during these first weeks of filming. Carrión summoned nine boys from the subsidiary, who will compete in the Second RFEF next season. They are goalkeeper Unai Agirre; defenders Carlos Sánchez, Farru, Uri and Pedro García; and the midfielder Neskes, who is already almost permanent in the first team. And the winger Teddy will start, once his loan to Atlético de Madrid B is over.
Two jewels with a great future
The Albinegro coach also called up two players who stood out a lot in the youth Division of Honor last season: De Pedro and Adrián Sanmartín. Both debuted with the first team last season, although only the first in an official match. The idea is that De Pedro grows in the subsidiary and Sanmartín, with a contract until 2025, makes the final leap to the Division of Honor.
