Nine young people from a rowing team die crushed by a truck

Nine members of a rowing team died this Sunday in Brazil in a terrible traffic accident caused by the overturning of a truck on the van in which they were traveling. The event took place on the BR376 federal highway near the municipality of Guaratubaon the coast of the state of Paraná.

The authorities indicated that only one member of the team and the truck driver survivedwho were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The victims were young people between 17 and 21 years old who returned to the municipality of Pelotas, in the southern state of Río Grande do Sul, after competing in São Paulo in the Unified Brazilian Rowing Championshipeither.
