Nicole Kidman Leaves Venice Film Festival: Mother Dies
The famous actress Nicole Kidman had to suddenly interrupt her participation in the Venice Film Festival because she was hit by the terrible news of the death of the mother.
The director of the film Kidman is competing with, Halina Reijnread on stage the painful words transcribed in a message by the actress herself to motivate her sudden absence:
“I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her. She shaped me, guided me and created me. I am more than grateful to be able to say her name to all of you through Halina. The collision between life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken.”
The director then continued to read Kidman’s message which concluded like this:
“She always gave me a huge boost in everything I did and I kept going because I always loved to please her. My mother never had the opportunities she wanted, but she was very determined to make sure that both my sister and I had them. I am lucky because she gives me the chance to look at the world through her eyes”.
Nicole Kidman’s mother, Janelle Ann, she was 86 years old and apparently had been ill for some time. Throughout her life she practiced the profession of nurse and has always been very active in the fight for women’s rights. In fact, she was part of the feminist group Electoral Lobby.
During an episode of Sydney Morning Heraldthe Australian actress explained how it was her mother who helped her pursue her goals and encouraged her to fight every time to achieve them.
