The Minister of Education of the Nation, Nicolás Trotta, assured that the objective of the Government is to advance in a vaccination campaign for students of different levels in order to regain absolute presence during the school year next year.
“The vaccination of students is the subsequent factor that will allow us to have the expectation, as we do, of rrecover absolute presence during 2022“, he affirmed in dialogue with El Uncover.
Along these lines, he also set his expectation on having a “very robust presence” after the winter break, in August, “as long as the epidemiological health variables are maintained.”
This Monday the winter holidays began in two provinces: San Juan and Río Negro. In the other 22 districts of the country they will be staggered in different stages. The schedule was confirmed by the Ministry of Education of the Nation.
The official said that the vaccination process for adolescents and children should have the prior step of the approval of the ANMAT of the different vaccines to “strengthen the presence in the classrooms.”

In addition, Trotta remarked that progress has been made in the inoculation of teachers and that a significant percentage of teachers have already applied the second doses.
“The projection of vaccination of children and adolescents is the expectation that our educational system has facing the last months “, sentenced the minister.
Trotta also referred to the debate around school promotion for the 2021 school year, but left the definition tied to the decision of the Federal Council of Education, which meets that week.
“There will be no automatic promotion. There were none in 2020 and less in 2021, “he said. And he added that the objective is to” guarantee learning “for boys with heterogeneous situations.
“We in 2020 did the opposite of what could be implemented as an automatic promotion, because It is not that the boys passed the grade as if a pandemic had not crossed us“, he clarified.
At the same time, he stressed the adaptation of the pedagogical proposal in schools throughout this year and that “pending learning was strengthened” during the summer.
“We have to make it clear that the face-to-face and non-face-to-face processes have been very diverse in the various territories of Argentina and that requires different approaches,” he said.
In mid-June and after a meeting between the country’s education ministers, the Buenos Aires minister, Soledad Acuña, reported on the postponement of this year’s Aprender tests, a standardized assessment for boys and girls in primary and secondary school. The announcement generated a strong controversy throughout the country.
Minister Trotta stated that it was approved to carry out the census test during the month of December to “evaluate the educational system” and compare with historical data. It will only be in sixth grade of primary school and on a census basis, and as part of a comprehensive evaluation plan.
“They are all these tools to ratify certain decisions of educational policies,” concluded the official.
