The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro assured this Saturday that the opposition leader María Corina Machado is preparing to leave the countrybecause -he said- the anti-Chavistas “are cowards.”

“Today I tell you, the supposed queen bee is left without a bee and is preparing Gucci suitcases (…) she knows what I am saying and ‘La Sayona’ (in reference to Machado) is preparing to leave, compadre, too I’m saying it, they are cowards,” said the president at the demonstration called to celebrate his controversial re-election in the state of La Guaira (north).
Maduro recalled that he warned weeks ago that the standard-bearer of Venezuela’s main opposition coalition – Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) -, Edmundo González Urrutia, would leave the country.
González Urrutia left Venezuela and arrived in Madrid on September 8, where he requested asylum. and where he received, in the last three weeks, the recognition of the European Parliament and other international organizations as “elected president” in the Venezuelan elections.
Fascists promote hatred, division, intolerance, they seek violence (…) but when they are defeated they are cowards
Maduro stated that “fascists promote hatred, division, intolerance, they seek violence, when they are in groups they are rebelled, but when they are defeated they are cowards.”
The president indicated that after two months of the presidential elections, Chavismo has consolidated the “victory”, peace, economic growth, as well as social recovery plans.
On Friday, in an interview with AFP, The opposition leader assured that she does not plan to leave the country, as Maduro’s electoral rival had to do to go into exile in Spain.
“I am where I feel most useful for the fight, in Venezuela,” he said. “I am here accompanying the Venezuelans as a fight that continues, which is much bigger than any of us,” said Machado.
Just one day after González’s departure, Machado reiterated that he would remain in the country. “Let this be very clear to everyone: Edmundo will fight from outside alongside our diaspora and I will continue doing so here, alongside you,” he stated in a message on X.
Nicolás Maduro assures that he will take office on January 10
Maduro also stated this Saturday that he will be sworn in as president of the Caribbean nation, for the period 2025-2031, on January 10, as established by the Constitution.
“On January 10, President Nicolás Maduro Moros will be sworn in with the people in the streets, in millions, as the Constitution mandates,” said the president in a demonstration celebrating his controversial re-election in the state of La Guaira (north).

“The Constitution is exhaustive and says that the president proclaimed by the corresponding organizations, in this case the Electoral Branch, and ratified by the expert audit of 100% of the (voting) minutes, carried out by the Electoral Chamber (of the Supreme Court of Justice), will be sworn in on January 10,” he added.
Maduro’s re-election after the July 28 elections is unknown to the oppositionwhich claims the triumph of its candidate González with 67% of the votes.
Maduro was proclaimed the winner with 52% of the votes by the pro-government National Electoral Council (CNE), which until now has not disclosed the detailed results of the vote, as required by law.
The opposition, led by Machado, published on a website copies of about 80% of the electoral records, which would prove González Urrutia’s victory.
The protests against Maduro’s re-election left 27 dead, 200 injured and some 2,400 detained, including 164 teenagers.
Opponents protested again this Saturday in Caracas and other cities in the country against the official result of the presidential elections.
The protest, called by PUD, was carried out under the “swarm” mode, so that citizens could “appear and disappear” quickly for security reasons, as Machado explained.
Machado, who has kept her whereabouts hidden while the Government labels her a terrorist, had an indirect participation in these demonstrations, through a recording that citizens played.
“Each record (of voting) contains thousands, millions of stories, of steps, of tears, each record is a testimony of our strength, courage and our determination to be free and equal, each record contains the truth of popular sovereignty expressed in every vote,” Machado said via audio.
Likewise, he maintained that every day the Maduro Government is “more alone, isolated and weak, its violent attacks are a sign, evidently, of desperation.”
