Nicolas Cage will once again play the role of Spider-Man Noirbut this time in a live-action series titled Noir. The series, ordered by MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video, will initially debut on MGM+’s channel in the United States, followed by a global launch on Prime Video. The announcement was made at Amazon’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York.
“Expanding the Marvel Universe with Noir is a unique opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers,” he has declared Vernon Sandershead of television for Amazon MGM Studios. “The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero, and the production team, with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal and the amazing team at Sony, is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way possible. ”
Cage he had already played Spider-Man Noir in the Academy Award-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This will be the first time the character will be depicted in a live-action project. According to the official synopsis, Noir will tell the story about an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, forced to confront his past life as the city’s only superhero.

The series is created by Oren Uziel And Steve Lightfoot, who will also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. They developed the series with the Into the Spider-Verse team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, all of whom serve as executive producers. Harry Bradbeer he will executive produce and direct the first two episodes. Pascal produces through Pascal Pictures. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Lord and Miller under an overall deal with Sony.

This role will also mark the first regular television role of Cage’s career. He has long been praised for his film work, having won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Out of Las Vegas and received a nomination in the same category for The Orchid Thief.
