The NGO Iran Human Rights, which is based in Oslo, Norway, released this Sunday (02/10) an estimate that more than 130 people died in the protests that have been taking place in Iran for a few weeks.
The demonstrations take place in the Persian country over the death of Mahsa Amini, who was detained on charges of not properly wearing the Islamic veil.
According to the NGO, 90 people died in the acts that took place immediately after the disclosure of the woman’s death, which is denounced as a murder committed by Iranian security forces.
Another 41 people died as a result of violent clashes between protesters and police in the city of Sahedan, in southeastern Iran.
The acts in Sahedan began after a police chief was accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl from the Sunni minority.
Protests against the Iranian regime continue to take place in the capital, Tehran, as well as in several other cities, and abroad.
In Bern, Switzerland, a demonstration in front of the Iranian embassy was dispersed by police after two people managed to enter the diplomatic representation building.
In Germany, there were also demonstrations that mobilized thousands of people in different cities of the country.
