NFT, an abbreviation for the expression “non-fungible token” that gathers unique images within an exclusive digital file, was considered the word of the year by the Collins Dictionary.
In 2021, it was possible to notice the emergence of numerous words within the universe of social networks, such as the expression “cringe” — a reference to doing something outdated and causing shame for others — and other expressions related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the acronym NFT was chosen as the main expression of the year, after an analysis of more than 4.5 billion words, by the Collins Dictionary, according to a survey by The Guardian newspaper.

What is and how much can an NFT be worth?
NFT, short for “non-fungible token”, is a digital file that stores unique data, most often a set of images, produced exclusively. This file is registered in a “blockchain”, which serves to register assets, such as collectibles.
The most valuable NFT of the moment is a work by the artist Beeplem, the piece called “Everydays — The First 5000 Days” was sold in March of this year for R$ 315 million.
