Although there are still 6 months to go before the start of the 2022 season of the National Football League (NFL), teams are already gearing up, with various moves made in the last 24 hours.
The most recent and relevant of them is the one reported this morning by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, with the transfer of the quarterback Carson Wentzof the Indianapolis Colts to the Washington Commanders.
The recently appointed ‘Commanders’, after weeks of searching, finally manage to get a ‘quarterback’ to help them go in the right direction for the following campaign.

The transaction
Although the deal would not be finalized until March 16, when the league’s “new year” begins, the transfer would be as follows: Washington gets Wentz, while the Colts receive the third round of this year’s Draft , and the third round of next year’s Draft, which may turn into a second based on last year’s incentives.
A single campaign was the one that Wentz lasted in Indianapolis, in which the objectives were not met, being out of the postseason, with a record of 9 wins and 8 losses, second in the South division of the American Conference.

Wentz showed signs of his talent in some games, but towards the end of the season his level of play dropped a lot, throwing for less than 300 yards in the last 5 games, finishing with total numbers of 3,563 passing yards, 27 passes scoring, with 7 interceptions.
