National player Peterka in the Sabers’ final NHL roster
Buffalo Good news for German ice hockey: With John-Jason Peterka, another national player has made the leap into the squad of an NHL team. This shows that we are on the right track in this country.
National ice hockey player John-Jason Peterka is in the final squad of the Buffalo Sabers for the start of the season in the North American professional league NHL. The 20-year-old forward also survived the last cut by head coach Don Granato and should make his third NHL appearance in Thursday’s first game of the season with the Ottawa Senators.
There should be a duel between the young German storm stars against Ottawa. Tim Stützle has long been an absolute regular with the Senators.
Born in Munich, Peterka, who was drafted 34th in 2020, was drafted into the Sabers team for two games last season. Peterka mostly went onto the ice for the Rochester Americans farm team and shone with 80 points in 80 games.
