Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The offices of the digital newspaper ADiscusión in Culiacán, Sinaloa, were attacked by gunfire on the night of this Thursday, June 13.
A recording broadcast on social networks captured the moment when two men on a motorcycle passed in front of the newspaper, located on Calle Cristóbal Colón, in the second square of the capital, and shot repeatedly.
The façade of the place has a mural in honor of its founder, journalist Humberto Millán Salazar, who was kidnapped and murdered in August 2011.
“No to silence,” reads the wall of the newspaper that also has journalist Javier Valdez painted on it.
“Fortunately, at that time there were no newspaper staff present in the offices, only a colleague who was inside,” Jair Flores, director of the newspaper, in a television interview.
He heard the detonations and then, seeing the images, he was able to appreciate the events. Both subjects never stopped walking; “They just walked by and shot,” he said.
