New Zealand Earthquake interrupts press conference among New Zealand Prime Minister, reaction recorded on video

Friday’s earthquake did not wreak havoc.

Earthquake adjourned the speech of the Prime Minister of New Zealand on Friday.

Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern announced to the media the country’s new coronavirus strategy as the ground beneath its feet began to vibrate.

The magnitude of the earthquake that interrupted the event was 5.9.

Quaking began in the midst of a question from the journalist to Ardern. The video of the photographers was recorded when the Prime Minister stuck to the podium.

At the end of the brief earthquake, Ardern smiled and said, “Excuse me, little disturbance – would you repeat the question?”.

On social media, Ardern’s calm reaction has received attention both in New Zealand and elsewhere.

Friday’s quake did not wreak havoc, although some 25,000 people reported noticing the quake.

An example of what happened is The Guardian.
