New Russian self-propelled guns 2S43 “Malva” were spotted in the zone of a special military operation (SVO) in the Kharkov direction. This is reported by Telegram-channel “Artillery”.
It is noted that the maximum speed of the vehicles that appeared in the combat zone is up to 80 kilometers per hour, and the fuel range reaches a thousand kilometers. The four-axle all-terrain vehicle BAZ-6610-027 “Voshchina” from the Bryansk Automobile Plant is used as a running platform on self-propelled guns. A YaMZ-8424.10 engine with a power of 470 horsepower was installed on it.
In August 2023, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract with the Burevestnik Central Research Institute (CSRI) for the supply of self-propelled howitzers on the 2S43 Malva wheeled chassis, modernized 2S12A mortar systems on the chassis of the Ural-43206 vehicle, 2B11 wheeled mortars and 2B24 mortars of 82 mm caliber.
