Several municipalities in Granada are tottering on the brink of closure, amongst them Almuñécar, which now has 464 per 100,000 inhabitants. In fact, the Granada South Health Area, as a whole, has 492 per 100k.
Take the case of Ítrabo, which has had four cases of contagion in 14 days giving them 404 per 100,000, but with a population of just 988 it would only take one more contagion case to push it past 500 per 100,000.
Inland we’re looking at Cenes de la Vega, Darro, Dúdar, Lanteira, Vegas del Genil and Bubión just waiting for the word from the meeting to close their municipal boundaries. In the case of Bubión with only a population of 296 and only three cases, they are over 1,000 cases per 100,000 meaning that their lockdown is total; all non essential businesses closed etc.
Chauchina, Diezma, Huéneja, La Malahá, Ugíjar and Purullena have broken well past the 500 mark and reached the 1,000 mark meaning, like Bubión, their boundaries and non-essential businesses are closed.
If you’re wondering what percentage of the provincial population is behind closed municipal boundaries, it’s over half (58%)
