New road tests for the next generation of Maserati GranTurismo. The super sports car of the Trident was pinched on the road during a new phase of development in which the prototype still appears heavily covered by the usual camouflage livery. Beyond the indications regarding the design, however, the video released on the web allows us to enjoy the sound of the engine that will equip the new Granturismo.
In the clip captured by Varryx, in fact, one of the Maserati model forklifts can be seen moving away on what seems to be the road of an industrial area and at the same time can be heard the “voice” of the engine produced by the Modena car manufacturer. There are still no confirmations regarding the unit that will be destined for the Granturismo even if the first rumors speak of a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, the same layout used for the MC20. This engine has a double injection system and a pre-chamber combustion system with double spark plugs for a total power of 630 HP and 730 Nm of torque. It is possible that a weakened solution will be chosen for the new generation of the Trident sports car, albeit with a higher output than the previous generation of the GranTurismo.
It is therefore possible that the new version exceeds 460 hp and 520 Nm of torque from the Ferrari-derived 4.7-liter V8 that was achieved on the MC Stradale and Sport variants. Maserati has confirmed that the new GranTurismo will also be available in an all-electric version, although it is unclear whether this variant will position itself as a top model or as a lower-cost variant. The new Maserati GranTurismo will have several stylistic innovations inherited from the latest models of the Italian brand, while maintaining a design in line with the past.
