Certainly not everyone agrees that Lamborghini is getting its most celebrated name for an Aventador with a new carriage. Fortunately, Lamborghini doesn’t need everyone; 112 people with deep pockets are enough. And they found it. The new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is already completely sold out. Nice detail: the very first one is coming to the Netherlands and can be parked next to the Dutch Sian in the garage.
The price of the new Lamborghini Countach
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 costs about 2.3 million euros, so the brand can add more than 250 million euros in turnover to the annual balance sheet. The production number of 112 is a reference to LP112, the internal code name of the original Countach. The engine is a 6.5-liter V12 that delivers 780 hp, supplemented by a 48-volt electric motor that throws another 34 hp and 35 Nm. The combined power is 814 hp and goes to all wheels. The ‘I’ in LPI therefore stands for ‘Ibrido’, Italian for hybrid.
The 0-100 time is 2.8 seconds, the 0-200 time is only 8.6 seconds. The top speed of the new Countach is 355 km/h. Unique to the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is the ‘Stile’ button. When the ‘style’ button is pressed, the Countach explains the design philosophy to the occupants. Nice party trick. You will also recognize many elements of the Sian and Aventador in the (predominantly digital) interior.
“The first Countach has been a model in our Centro Stile for several years,” says Lamborghini’s design boss Mitja Borkert. “Every time I look at it I get goosebumps and it serves as the perfect reminder for me and the entire design team to design every future Lamborghini in a visionary and futuristic way.” The livery of the new Lamborghini Countach above (white paint, black-red interior) is exactly how Ferruccio Lamborghini had put together his Countach.
