In the territories of the Irkutsk region affected by the floods of 2019, 56 social facilities have been restored. 4 billion rubles from the budget of the Russian Federation were allocated for the construction of dams and engineering protections. The largest structures are being built in Tulun and Nizhneudinsk. Their length will be 11 and 17 km, respectively. Temporary dams cope with the rise in water that has occurred due to heavy rains. Contractors are advised to expedite the construction of the main dams.
A total of 116 social facilities need to be restored. It is reported by IA IrkutskMedia with reference to the press service of the regional government.
“Today we must maximize work with the affected areas. This requires proper planning, preparation of documentation for the facilities, which are planned to start in 2021, and control over the implementation of works where they are currently underway in order to prevent delays, “said the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Kobzev.
One-time financial aid and assistance in connection with the loss of property received 47 thousand people. Federal funding amounted to 2.6 billion rubles.
All housing overhaul work will be completed by November 30. The issue was raised during a videoconference with President Vladimir Putin. The direct line was attended by residents of Tulun and Nizhneudinsk. They shared their impressions of the apartments, received in exchange for the lost housing.
