New attack: activists throw cakes at wax figure of King Carlos III

Two Just Stop Oil activists stamped this Monday two chocolate cakes on the face of the wax figure of King Carlos III in the London museum of Madame Tussauds, with the slogan that the British government “stop new oil and gas licences”.

“The science is clear, the demand is simple: stop new oil and gas licenses“they proclaimed as they threw the cakes at the sculpture, which is surrounded by other members of the British royal family.

The environmental entity shared the action in a video on its social networks, accompanied by some tweets in which they denounce the English monarch for “having abandoned his plans to attend and give a speech” in person at the next COP27 of the UN, which will be held from November 6 to 18 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

This event occurs one day after two other activists from the German group Last Generation threw mashed potatoes at one of the pictorial works of Claude Monet’s ‘The Haystacks’ series, at the Barberi Museum in Potsdam, located south of Berlin .

Ten days ago, two other members of Just Stop Oil dropped two cans of tomato soup on Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘The Sunflowers’, at the National Gallery in London, after which they stuck their hands to the wall while asking themselves: “Is art worth more than life?” with the same claim as today’s action.
