LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Netflix’s western movie “Attack of the Dogs” on Tuesday received 12 Oscar nominations this year and tops the list of contenders, including a nomination for the prestigious best picture category.
“Attack of the Dogs” will compete for the top prize with the epic sci-fi film “Dune,” which received 10 nominations; the drama “Belfast”, about a family living in conflict in Northern Ireland in the late 1960s; the film about a deaf community “No Rhythm of the Heart”; and “Don’t Look Up”, an allegory about climate change.
Other best picture nominees include the Japanese drama “Drive My Car,” “King Richard: Raising Champions,” about the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams; the coming-of-age plot of “Licorice Pizza”; the thriller “Nightmare Alley”; and the remake of Steven Spielberg’s “Amor, Sublime Amor”.
