One of those responsible for Lucifer would be in charge of this project, according to Variety.
Netflix It has been expanding its catalog of series and products related to video games for a long time, and this time, the Pokémon saga is the target of all eyes. As reported Variety Alluding to its own sources, this well-known streaming video platform is working on a new live action pokemon series in the vein of the funny movie Detective Pikachu.
In the past it was rumored with series of Star Fox and Zelda on NetflixAt the moment there is no official announcement in between but Variety points out that the person responsible for writing and producing this new series is Joe henderson, the co-showrunner and executive producer of the Netflix series Lucifer. Unfortunately we don’t have more details about the direction this production would take either: what stories would it tell? Which actors will be used? What will be the chosen setting to recreate the adventures of Pokémon?
Curiously, this information comes at a time when Netflix has in its catalog a few Pokémon products, such as the Pokémon Travel series or Pokémon Indigo League. There are also other video game productions underway, such as the Far Cry and Splinter Cell series or the Cyberpunk anime, which join recent releases such as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Dragon’s Dogma or the DOTA and League of Legends anime series.
Since there is still no official confirmation, it should be remembered that in the past it was already rumored with other Nintendo series on Netflix. The funny thing about that story is that, apparently, the failed adaptation of Zelda caused the cancellation of a Star Fox series. Right now, we just have to wait for an official statement from Nintendo, Netflix and The Pokémon Company.
