Netflix has just announced Bubble, the new animated film produced by Wit Studio, the same one who transposed the first four seasons of Attack on Titan. The feature film will be set in a modern Tokyo trapped in what looks like an immense soap bubble: the entire city is submerged by a sea that defies the laws of gravity, which cuts it off from the rest of the world. Younger residents see this new Tokyo as a huge playground, a “battlefield” for parkour teams practicing their way through the city. Among these we find Hibiki, a reckless tracker who challenged his luck and ended up falling into the sea. He is saved by a girl with strange powers called Uta: Together the two hear a strange noise and investigating will lead them to discover the truth behind the current state of the world.
The film will be directed by Tetsuo Araki (Attack on Titan), while Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica) will be the screenwriter. In the role of character designer we find the artist Takeshi Obata (Death Note), while Hiroyuki Sawano (Promare) will take care of the soundtrack. Among the voice actors there will be prestigious names such as Mamoru Miyano. The release date of the movie on Netflix is set for the next one April 28, 2022 and below we can admire a teaser trailer in Italian.
