Netanyahu: ICC will not tie our hands
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused the International Criminal Court (ICC) of “trying to get its hands on Israel.” In May, the ICC requested arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in connection with the October 7 attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza. “The ICC is trying to tie Israel’s hands and prevent us from defending ourselves. And if Israel’s hands are tied, America is next,” Netanyahu warned. The prime minister also said such a move would jeopardize “the ability of all democracies to fight terrorism.” “Let me assure you that the hands of the Jewish state will never be shackled. Israel will always defend itself,” the prime minister told the US Congress.
