Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has deleted a joint photo with the current US President Donald Trump, which he used for a long time as a cover for his Twitter account. The agency drew attention to this Reuters…
The publication notes that for a long time in the header of the official account of the Israeli leader there was a photo with the President of the United States – a kind of symbol of friendship between politicians. During Hanukkah, the photo was replaced by a thematic image. After the holiday, Netanyahu again put a joint photo with Trump, but this time in the company of foreign ministers of the UAE and Bahrain. On Tuesday morning, Trump disappeared from the page of the Israeli prime minister again: on the cover of Netanyahu’s official account there is now a picture in which the politician is vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Netanyahu’s page reportedly provides no explanation for Trump’s disappearance from his Twitter account. The agency itself attributes this move to Netanyahu’s attempt to distance himself from the once-closest ally, who is facing impeachment following the riots in the Capitol last week.
On January 7, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced that Trump would be left without the social network until the end of his presidential term. On January 9, Twitter indefinitely blocked his account due to “the risk of further incitement to violence.” In addition, the management of the microblogging service promised to block the account of any user who gave the floor to the US President.
