Leaks are quite common in the video game industry. However, the recent leak of Grand Theft Auto VI it is a rather peculiar case, since we are talking about exposure to material still in development. Thus, Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, issued a message sending him moral support to everyone who has been working on GTA VI.
Through his official Twitter account, Druckmann issued a message where asks the developers who were affected by this leak to continue their work and that, eventually, the desperation you feel right now will pass. This was what he commented:
“To my fellow developers affected by the latest leak, please know that as daunting as it feels right now, it will pass. One day we’ll be playing your game, appreciating your art, and leaks will be relegated to a footnote on a Wikipedia page. Keep working. Keep making art.”
To my fellow devs out there affected by the latest leak, know that while it feels overwhelming right now, it’ll pass. One day we’ll be playing your game, appreciating your craft, and the leaks will be relegated to a footnote on a Wikipedia page. Keep pushing. Keep making art. ♥️

Druckmann speaks from a position of experience. Let us remember that only in the last two years, Naughty Dog has been affected by massive leaks on two occasions in particular. The first was the leak of the script and part of the game of The Last of Us Part IIand the most recent was the revelation of The Last of Us Part I. So if anyone can talk about what it feels like to have an unfinished work revealed early, it’s Druckmann.
In related topics, we already know who leaked the videos of GTA VI. Similarly, Rockstar has issued a statement about this event.
Editor’s Note:
Considering Naughty Dog’s history with leaks, Druckmann’s message not only carries great weight, it’s also true. Currently, very few remember the leaks that the company’s games had. Eventually, this will all be in the past.
