+++ 4.30 p.m.: The third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine has started. The agencies Tass and Interfax report, citing the Russian embassy in Belarus. Although there has not yet been any confirmation from the Ukrainian side, the Belarusian state agency Belta published a picture of the meeting on Telegram and Twitter, which is to take place near the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park.
Both sides had already agreed on escape corridors at their second meeting last Thursday. At the weekend, however, two attempts to evacuate residents of the city of Mariupol failed. Both sides accused each other of violating an agreed ceasefire. A planned rescue of civilians from embattled cities did not succeed on Monday either.
As a condition for a cessation of fighting, Russia is demanding that Ukraine declare itself neutral in its constitution. In addition, Kyiv must recognize the annexed peninsula of Crimea as Russian and the separatist areas in the east of the country as independent.

+++ 1.45 p.m.: According to information from Kyiv, the third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is scheduled to begin on Monday afternoon (07.03.2022) at 3 p.m. (CET). This was announced by the Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podoliak at noon via Twitter. Podoljak tweeted a selfie in front of a military helicopter. According to the Tass state agency, the Russian delegation had previously flown to Belarus. It was not initially known exactly where the two sides would meet.
Update from Monday, March 7th, 2022, 10.35 a.m.: One of the Ukrainian negotiators who recently negotiated with Russia during the Ukraine conflict is dead, reports the daily Welt, referring to a report by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. Apparently, Denis Kireyev worked as an agent. He was therefore killed during “special tasks”. How the agent died and who is responsible remained unclear.
Kireyev attended negotiations on the Ukraine conflict on February 28 in Belarus. A new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is scheduled for Monday (March 7th, 2022).

First report from Monday, March 7th, 2022, 9.18 a.m.: Kyiv – According to Ukraine, a third round of ceasefire talks with Russia is to take place on Monday. After two attempts had already failed, the chances of a successful negotiation seem slim. The Russian President Wladimir Putin* was recently determined to achieve its goals in the Ukraine conflict. However, Kyiv strictly rejects Russia’s demands such as demilitarization.
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine: New talks on Monday
In the run-up to the negotiations, Russia then announced a unilateral ceasefire on Monday morning (March 7th, 2022) because of the “catastrophic humanitarian situation” in the Ukraine war. This should apply from Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. local time (8:00 a.m. CET). The Russian military announced in Moscow in the morning that there should be humanitarian corridors for the capital Kyiv, the port city of Mariupol, Kharkiv and Sumy.
People in Kyiv are to be transported to Gomel in Belarus and then on to Russia. From Mariupol on the Sea of Azov, civilians were to be taken to the southern Russian city of Rostov. On Thursday (03/03/2022) Ukraine and Russia finally agreed for the second time on the creation of humanitarian corridors.
