The Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, during its meeting today, at the headquarters of the Council’s General Secretariat in Dubai, headed by Dr. Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of the Committee, concluded a discussion of a draft federal law regarding the approval of a supplementary budget to the general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2022, in the presence of Representatives of the Ministry of Finance.
The meeting was attended by members of the committee: Mira Sultan Al-Suwaidi, the committee’s reporter, Saeed Rashid Al-Abedy, Aisha Rashid Laytim, Aisha Reda Al-Bairaq, and Marwan Obaid Al-Muhairi, members of the Federal National Council.
In the presence of Saeed Rashid Al-Yateem, Assistant Undersecretary for the Resources and Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance, the committee discussed the articles of a federal draft law on approving a supplementary budget for the general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2022, which deals with the increase in expenditures and revenues of the general budget of the Federation, and decided to prepare its report on it in preparation for its approval and submission to the Council .
The committee also discussed, in the presence of representatives of the Consumer Cooperative Union, a federal draft law on cooperatives, which consists of 32 articles, and aims to enhance the role of cooperatives in achieving sustainable development, benefiting their members, achieving market balance, regulating the licensing and work of the cooperative sector and its activities in the country, and enhancing the ability of cooperatives to self-reliance. Enable members of society and its various groups to establish cooperatives, develop non-traditional cooperative sectors and activities, govern cooperative systems and organize their work, and achieve cooperative principles.
