The eaves of Golden State Warriors, Juan Toscano-Andersonbecame the first player of Mexican descent to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest.
Although Toscano could not win, he had a worthy second place in one of the most anticipated events by NBA fans each year in the All Star Weekendand showed that with hard work, dreams come true.
The career of the Mexican-American has been growing in recent years, going from playing in the National Professional Basketball League of Mexico (LNBP), to then go to the Professional League of Venezuela, and then in the National Basketball League in Argentina.

Return to Mexico and opportunity in G-League
After his time in the league ArgentinaToscano-Anderson, 1.98 meters, returned to Mexico to play with royal force in the LNBP, before receiving his first opportunity in the NBA Development League, also known as the G-League.
After signing with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G-Leaguesubsidiary of the Golden State Warriorsreceived a call up by the senior team, signing a 3-year deal in 2020, however in December he was cut, but only to later sign a new 2-way deal with the Warriors.
Due to his good performance, his effort paid off, and his 2-way contract was upgraded to a standard one with Golden State, where he is currently in his third season at the best level of basketball in the world.
Now, Toscano-Anderson can boast of being the first and only Mexican to have participated in a Diving Contest, doing it in the most Mexican way possible, paying tribute to his Aztec roots, with custom tennis shoes with the Mexican flagand his number and last name on his back also highlighted in green, white, and red.

For all those who say he is not Mexican, Toscano-Anderson competed with dignity and Aztec pride, leaving the name of Mexico high, and earning the respect of millions around the world.
