GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS 118 – PHOENIX SUNS 96
They had 18 victories in a row, but the streak ends at the home of the leader of the competition. A duel to keep in mind in case it is repeated in a tie. National television in the United States focused on this meeting and it was no wonder. The Warriors got a second momentum in the second half, forgive the redundancy, and took the definitive advantage. Toscano and Payton not only put strength from the bench, they also hit the mark, and together with Poole or Wiggins they thwarted some Suns with fewer options when Booker was not present, who is injured. Curry and Ayton tied at 23 as top scorers, but neither of them was decisive. Golden State continues with only one lost game at home.
WASHINGTON WIZARDS 101 – CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 116
Another hit at the Cavaliers table. In the capital and against one of the fittest teams this season, the Wizards, they took a victory of merit. Total control and without problems. Darius Garland dominated at pleasure, who with 32 equals his best scoring mark, and used Jarrett Allen (28 + 13) as the best squire. Ricky Rubio, a little weaker: 7 + 6.
INDIANA PACERS 104 – MIAMI HEAT 113
Sabonis, under the watchful eye of his father, was a substitute although he ended up playing 37 minutes. His double-double and the contribution of Levert and Turner, very positive, came to nothing during the Heat’s visit to their pavilion. Those from Spoelstra maintained well the advantage of more than ten points with which they entered the fourth quarter, without being in danger at any time. The best visitor was Kyle Lowry, with 26 points in which he made six 3-of-eight attempts.
UTAH JAZZ 137 – BOSTON CELTICS 130
Tatum was a compulsive scorer again in a loss to the Celtics, he doesn’t change that trend. At 37 points he went, although with a 2/11 in triples that was to worry about. They ended up losing in Utah against a team that hit 27/51 from long range, against what the greens did quite a bit. Mitchell (34) and Conley (29) were the best locals.
ATLANTA HAWKS 96 – PHILADELPHIA SIXERS 98
Very serious blackout of the Hawks in the fourth quarter, only nine points, which made possible the comeback of the Sixers and their subsequent victory. Atlanta fell to zero in the final three and a half minutes and Embiid, with a pair of baskets, capped Philly’s game. The Cameroonian stayed at 28 points. The last one was Gallinari to win, but missed his triple.
BROOKLYN NETS 110 – MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 105
A bad start was fixed at halftime. Brooklyn attacked more successfully at the end of the game and ended with victory in hand. Without Towns, Edwards and Beasley failed at the decisive moment and Durant put the sentence eleven seconds from the end. The Nets forward was the best of the night: 30 + 10.
HOUSTON ROCKETS 118 – ORLANDO MAGIC 116
Thirteen points in a row in the fourth quarter tightened a game that seemed determined and forced the Rockets to make one last effort as they were tied at 114. Two baskets by Eric Gordon and the final failure of Cole Anthony gave the Texans the victory. The two of them, the first with 24 and the second with 26, were the top scorers of the night. The Rockets are left with the most positive active streak, five in a row, after the loss of the Suns.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS 115 – LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 119
The Clippers guard gave the final pull. His 3s and Marcus Morris’s last on the board were the last nails in the Lakers’ coffin. Read the chronicle.
DALLAS MAVERICKS 91 – NEW ORLEANS PELICANS 107
Without Porzingis the Mavericks did not look the same to repeat the victory achieved two days earlier. New Orleans forced Doncic and he did not respond. Read the chronicle.
