His Excellency said during the Forum “Strategic Transformations and Future Impact for the Gulf Countries”, which is organized by Harvard Business School Club for the first time in Dubai: “The growth journey of the countries of the region has gone through many stages, during which they achieved a good performance in supporting health, education and vital economic sectors such as tourism, trade and others. The countries of the region are at the forefront of the world in providing humanitarian aid and contributing to global climate action, and they are taking steps successfully in the areas of food security, environmental preservation, support for technological industries and the development of technical solutions in various fields.
His Excellency added: “The Arab Gulf states have achieved the best positions according to global competitiveness indicators, which reflects the keenness of the region’s governments to develop their economies by enabling the private sector to play a greater role in their economies and lead the economic transformation and diversification, thus strengthening the non-oil economy. Indeed, governments play a major role in supporting this trend through economic policies and launching more initiatives to ensure the sustainable growth of the non-oil economy, and the countries of the region cooperate with each other through consistent policies that serve all common goals and build a new economy that leads the region towards greater prosperity.
His Excellency pointed out that there are many global problems related to global supply chains, the impact of small and medium-sized companies, the recession of economies and the slowdown in the global economy with the lack of clarity in the future economic vision, which requires great cooperation between countries to find radical solutions, and at the level of the countries of the Gulf region there is great cooperation in Areas such as food security, industry, unifying efforts for climate change, and others.”
Partnership between the two sectors
During the forum, officials and CEOs unanimously agreed on the pivotal role of the private sector in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in consolidating the prosperity of the region’s economies and strengthening the efforts of governments to respond to the challenges of food security, sustainability, health care, digital transformation, and governance.
They stressed the importance of expanding in building partnerships between the public and private sectors in the region, and laying the right foundations for cooperation in finding effective solutions to challenges, thus contributing to the consolidation of the role of the Gulf states as a major global power for the next twenty years.
