The frigid conditions will also justify frost warnings and frost advisories to cover from the Texas/Oklahoma peninsula to the East Coast.
Many areas in the southeastern and central Gulf Coast are likely to experience its first freeze of the season that will affect sensitive crops and livestock.
Meanwhile, the threat of heavy rain in maine should conclude this morning as a powerful cold front which provides the focus for precipitation moving towards the Canadian Maritime.
upstream, light rain/snow showers and thunderstorms they will continue over the Great Lakes today, and slowly taper off over the next few days. Ridges in the Northwest continue the warm trend in the region today before spreading east into the Northern Plains on Thursday.
The maximum temperatures will be from 15 to 25 degrees above average for many parts of the Northwest and Northern Plains over the next two days.
Hot, dry and windy conditions will warrant a critical fire weather hazard across much of central and eastern Montana on Thursday.
