S.e since 2006 Joachim Löw has been in office. But in the 14 years that he has been working as a national coach, he has never been criticized as severely as is currently the case. The 0: 6 in Spain last Tuesday left its mark.
For the first time, possible successors were also discussed in public. Several names were mentioned. Hansi Flick’s, Ralf Rangnick, Thomas Tuchel’s – and Jürgen Klopp’s. The latter can even imagine becoming the coach of the German national soccer team one day – but not in the near future.
Contract until 2024
“Maybe in the future,” Klopp said when asked before his team’s game against Leicester City on Sunday to “Sky”: “Now? No. I don’t have time, I have a job – a pretty intense job by the way. “
Klopp has been a coach for the reigning English champions since October 2015. “I’m not sure if anyone even asked me, but if they don’t know, I have a job in Liverpool,” emphasized the 53-year-old, who is still tied to the Reds until 2024 and feels comfortable in Anfield.
“And even if the weather is bad again, I like it,” said Klopp and reassured the Liverpool fans. “I’m responsible for a lot of things here, so I’m not just going to run away and take on a new challenge.”
