Naples, rigged competitions for the armed forces and penitentiary police in exchange for money
Blitz in Naples for rigged contests in the corps of the armed forces and the penitentiary police in exchange for money: the investigating judge issued 14 precautionary measures for corruption. The system actually ensured the “facilitated” passing of the exams. The investigation began towards the end of 2020. Two prison police officers were arrested before 2021, Enrico Spena and Maurizio Russo, in prison since last July and already on trial.
The two were surprised in the offices of a trade union while they received 8000 euros. Now, investigative investigations have revealed “one extensive branching of corrupt contacts and relevant complicities for the unlawful conditioning of insolvency proceedings “, reads the note from the prosecutor’s office.
Among others, precautionary measures concern a assistant chief of the prison police in service to Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Aniello Aversano; a traffic policeman of Caivano, Gennaro Fatone; it’s a corporal of the army serving at the Maddaloni barracks, Giorgio Spina who, for the prosecutors, were intermediaries in corrupt relationships: all three are now under house arrest.
