The top 5 most popular destinations for Russians at the moment include Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and the Maldives. Over the past week, the volume of bookings for them has grown 1.5 times. This was reported by Izvestia with reference to the press service of Tez Tour.
It is specified that demand for travel to Turkey increased by 55 percent compared to last week, to Greece and Cyprus – by 36 percent, to Egypt – by 20 percent. In the Maldives for the week, demand fell by 23 percent, while the average ticket for tours to the islands increased by 108 percent.
Travel service OneTwoTrip reported that the demand for air tickets from independent travelers has significantly increased. Thus, the leaders among the destinations were Seychelles (plus 55 percent compared to last week), Egypt (plus 43 percent), Maldives (plus 36 percent) and Turkey (plus 32 percent).
Flight search service Aviasales noted an increase in interest in Turkey by 49 percent, in Greece by 68 percent and in Cyprus by 46 percent compared to the previous week.
Earlier, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia named the most popular destinations for excursion tourism. It is noted that currently excursion trips make up about 10-15 percent of the total number of tours. According to the companies ALEAN, ANEX Tour, TUI, Intourist, Spectrum, the leaders of the rating in this segment are St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Karelia, the cities of the Golden Ring, Tatarstan, Baikal, Kamchatka, Altai and the Caucasus.
