The Colombian Nairo Quintana assured that he has saved “with note” the first part of the Tour de Francewho finishes in tenth place, 2.13 behind the leader, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, and pointed out that after Monday’s rest day “another race begins” with more favorable terrain for him.
“We have prepared well and as I have said these days, some days I will go well and others better. We are going to maintain regularity, we hope that health respects us, if that is the case I will be with the best”, assured the Arkea leader.

Quintana said that he has passed the first stages well, which were the least favorable for his conditions as a great climber.
“Except for the day of the Planche, when we lost a few interesting seconds, we defended ourselves in the wind, on the flat stages with the team, and above all we had a good time on the stage that kept us awake at night, the ‘pavé’, which we got through with flying colours, with a good taste in our mouths”, he said.
“Another race begins, by natural selection, the legs are going to matter more than the head. It is a better terrain for me, you have to file less, the plain wears out a lot,” he said.
Quintana acknowledged that he feels some aftermath of Saturday’s fall, but said he felt in good condition.
“Today’s arrival proves it, I’ve been with the best in a very tough stage, it has been ridden very fasta day with 3,600 meters of elevation gain at 40 on average,” he said.
The Colombian did not want to reveal in which stages of the remaining ones he intends to attack.
“There are several, we are going to go day by day, there is no need to brag, the rivals are very strong. There are some who say that at such a stage I am going to attack and they are not,” he pointed.
