She said: The draft law regulating places of worship comes in light of the UAE’s embrace of a number of nationalities and communities of different religions, sects and beliefs, and the state is one of the ideal images of coexistence and tolerance.
She added that the draft law enhances the efforts of the state to uphold and consolidate the values and principles of tolerance and coexistence among its citizens and residents, and to meet the religious needs of those communities by setting an organization for the practice of followers of religions, sects and beliefs for their rituals and religious rituals in the state by proposing a federal draft law regarding the organization of places of worship for these Communities and nationalities.
She pointed out that the committee took into account, during the introduction of the observations and amendments, a number of considerations, represented in the draft law taking into account the local aspect of competence in this matter, and that the draft law is about regulating places of worship and not regulating the role of religions.
