The Ktm driver completes a great comeback and also takes race 2. Bad day for Cairoli, his delay from Herlings is now 136 points

Departure to say the least unusual in the final heat. The best at the start were Henry Jacobi (Honda), Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) – the only one of the top riders in the top group – and Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha). Other title favorites lagged behind with Tim Gajser (Honda) and Jeffrey Herlings (Ktm) out of the top ten. The two, however, immediately got busy going up to the third and fourth place; Febvre was unable to break away and, as in race 1, a very fast quartet was formed up front. At 10 ‘+ 2 laps from the end, the race experienced the most intense moments: Herlings opened the ball with the overtaking against Gajser on the final jump, Coldenhoff decided to clear the cards by taking the lead and then it was Herlings again to enter Febvre for the second square. After a few minutes of apparent calm, Gajser overtook Febvre for third place as Herlings took the lead. On the last lap Coldenhoff then defended his second position from Gajser. The two took the podium in the same order. Quarter heat and Febvre day.
cairoli: bad day

Black day for Tony Cairoli, forced to retire in both heats due to bruises remedied in the contacts at the start. It had not happened since the 2012 Swedish GP that the blue started in both heats without being able to finish them. Now Tony is 136 points behind Herlings with four races left (and 200 points left) at the end of the season.

In MX2 the ruler of the day was Tom Vialle (Ktm) who would be in full battle for the title if he hadn’t had to give up several heats in the early part of the season. The classification smiles on Maxime Renaux (Yamaha), 8th in Trentino but with 92 points ahead of the first pursuer and brand-mate Jago Geerts, 2nd of the day.
