Elon Musk had been flirting for a few weeks with reaching a new record, that of becoming the richest billionaire in the world. And he has finally achieved it. The American tycoon has reached the incredible figure of 348,000 million dollars, exceeding the 340,000 he reached in November 2021.
And all thanks to the relentless rise in Tesla shares and a new round of financing that values its artificial intelligence startup xAI at $50 billion. Along these lines, Tesla shares rose 3.8% on Friday, reflecting the market’s continued optimism and accumulating a revaluation of more than 60% in the last month. For its part, xAI’s value has more than doubled since it last raised funding in May.
Musk’s companies have appreciated since Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections. His fortune, more than two-thirds of which comes from Tesla shares, has increased 35% since the day before the election. And so far this year, his wealth has increased by $120 billion, far exceeding that of Larry Ellison (83.2 billion), Jensen Huang (79,900) or Mark Zuckerberg (70,000), according to data from Bloomberg.
On October 23, Musk’s assets reached 237 billion. In just one month, the American has seen his fortune increase by $111 billion, the equivalent of the wealth of billionaires of the stature of Rob and Alice Walton (Walmart) or Amancio Ortega.
