Music Pambikallio is an annealed indie band, and it is made up of a couple from Herttoniemi whose common musical career began with a “crush critique” given by another.

Is not hard to guess which one is in Pambikallio.

A musician who escaped a blizzard in February to a café in Kalliola Lauri Kallio is a familiar example Jimi Tenorin and Litku Klemetin gigs.

“It appropriately despises, fantasy world and cuteness,” Nyman opens the band’s attention-grabbing whimsical name.

“I may have tried to write‘ Bambi ’, but it didn’t quite work out,” Nyman recalls his childhood nickname.

Pambikallion The pop played in the 1960s and 1970s has been made more in recent years in Sweden, which also has a background in the band.

Nyman, 27, from Sastamala, and Kallio, 32, who grew up in Tampere, met – and fell in love with – while studying at the University of Gothenburg’s School of Art in 2016.

The couple’s first encounter took place at “Staggen,” the school’s standard pack at Stage Door.

“I heard someone speak a really loud voice in Mansen’s dialect. I thought I had to go introduce myself, ”recalls Nyman, who otherwise avoided Finnish circles.

A shared music career sparked when Nyman went to give Kallio a hefty critique after the gig.

“Crush criticism,” Kallio laughs. “I was, you don’t do it yourself then.”

The duo were inspired by the psychedelic band Dungen during their Gothenburg years. Kallio also points out Daniel Ögrenin Brev från Leksand album, Nyman’s 1970s folk “sizzling woman” Linda Perhacsin.

Pambikallion the retrospective has reminded many of Tame Impala, who visited Flow as the lead performer in 2019, but the couple’s background goes beyond pop.

Growing up at the College of Music and classical and church music, Nyman studied violin in Gothenburg and has since played in chamber music ensembles. He has also drafted spring arrangements Lytin album.

Crazy about playing the guitar, Kallio once again hit Jyväskylä’s jazz bar in Poppar, played prog with Sanna Klemet and ended up on the improvisation line at the Gothenburg School.

When the couple’s car was stolen from Suvilahti in 2019, the incident kicked forward. The duo bought drum machines and synthesizers with insurance money.

“It was more like that peeping,” Nyman recalls of the first joint experiments.

The first songs, Tail and Possessthe band recorded Finnvox in the studio, where Kallion had received a day of free studio time after his other band.

The release agreement was born for Helmi records Arwi Lindin with which the Roihupellon studio has served as the rehearsal space for the duo. The name of the band was invented a year ago on the same day Him-single went to distributor.

Couples pop bands have been part of the pop canon since Fleetwood Mac and Abba.

Love can splurge on band life, but for Pambikallio, romance preceded the band.

Kallio and Nyman, who graduated as bachelors of music, started socializing and moving together while studying in Sweden in 2019. It was preceded by a couple of years of friendship.

The livelihood of both professional musicians comes from teaching. Nyman makes substitutions for a violin teacher. Kallion mixes and produces and teaches guitar two days a week at Malmi Music School.

The duo have been equally recorded as the composer, lyricist and arranger of the album, although the lyrics are largely based on Nyman’s lyrics.

“Sharing things for good and evil,” Kallio describes the band relationship.

The duo’s home in Herttoniemi is full of different instruments. A harp hired by Nyman stumbles in the living room, and “someone always raps something”.

Nymanin according to him, most of the songs are based on sketches recorded on his phone, including violin and vocals. Kallion takes care of the “computer,” as Nyman describes the mixing.

“If there’s been a whirling creative season, a lot of control over it and you’ve been making an eye for enthusiasm for a long time, then at some point there will be a limit and there can be a tense mood,” Nyman says.

The controversy is caused by more musical disagreements over the cleaning of the bows.

“When are we just breathing?” Kallio asks about the other side of the artist’s life. “It has changed.”
